a grain of truth here, but look at the phrase: hunter-gatherer. The
males did the hunting, the females did the gathering. My guess is that
hunting was a far less consistent source of food than gathering, So if
the male didn't please the female, guess what?
no nuts and berries tonight, hon!
Now what does THAT remind me of?

OH, I'm going to hell for that one....and so are you, if you laughed.

In answer to the question(s) above - I cannot think of anyway to force
AutoCad to reinitilize using an externally modified ACAD.INI.
Hmmm. You make reference above to changing the acad path, and I can only
assume that you mean you are attempting to change the string value
associated with the variable "ACAD=" inside the ACAD.INI file. I can
think of some reasons why you might want to do this ... but the string
length of that variable can be up to 256 Charaters. Since at least part
of this string is not going to change (the pointers to the various ACAD
subdirectories such as support and fonts), it seems that you would only
want to change the remaining search path so that AutoCad looked in
specific directories for blocks etc. Do you really have so many
different directories that you want AutoCad to search that they cannot
fit into the path?
I assume you are doing this because you do not want to close AutoCad and
start it again with a different set of command line switches indicating
the "new" search path (which can be set up by copying the AutoCad icon
and modifying the command line accordingly).
Anyway, call me curious.
