As I see it, instead of writing portable self-contained app
like Microstation did, Adesk goes with COM/OLE as implementation
for their OO. That's the real problem here. If there would be
COM/OLE support on Linux, ACAD would probably run on it.
Oh no -- but they use MFC now! That's another issue.
BTW, everyone knows that you don't have to use C++ exclusivly
to get OOD, you would just have to work harder (and then
C++ means MFC for Microsoft...)

One other place that I know has several zip files containing electrical
symbol libraries is PIRS online and the file are free to download.
http://Biz.rtd.com/insa/
The only catch is you need to download the exaclibur program first and
configure your browser to use it as a helper file. The also have a BBS
but again you need the excalibur program. I have used their BBS and
there is a lot of good stuff on it. To bad they make you go thru the
hassle of having to use the excalibur program.

I might add that I for instance use yellow as a relatively heavy line weight,
but if my backgournd color where lighter, or white I probably would use the
same color because of lack of contract.... adding another complication to the
color/weight problem...

This problem may occur if you edit the acad.mnu file with AutoCAD still
open. The easiest way to eliminate the problem is to delete the acad.mnk
file in the support folder. Then reload the menu by typing "menu" at the
command line.
good luck, jim
