Is anyone selling Exam Books for the RPLS / SIT Exam? -- Scott Worrall The Center for Middle Eastern Studies The University of Texas at Austin http://ccwf.cc.utexas.edu/~pasha sdw@mail.utexas.eduReturn to Top
My nephew, Cory Mullens, is presumed to have drowned in Saratoga Lake in upstate New York on November 24, 1996. All recovery efforts have been futile. I have been writing to newsgroups to obtain information on sophisticated recovery equipment. I have heard from the US Geological Survey and the writer recommends contacting the consulting firm in Newport, RI which assisted in the TWA crash site investigation. He thought the name of the company is SAIC. Also, do you have any information on "water cadaver dogs?" Please help if you can. Thank you. Judi MullensReturn to Top

How about two surveying package licenses for $500 >apiece? Whatever do you mean -- poor support. Plus 3 has pretty good support as far as I am concerned. I've delt with support from a pile of software firms and at least Plus 3 doesn't insult my intelligence, and is honest about bugs. That's more than I can say about other developers. Re: your locks -- what modules do they have? I'm likly interested in striking up a deal.
I am a party chief with 15 years experience looking to prepare for the LSIT exam.I would appreciate any helpful comments from PROFESSIONAL SURVEYORS .Does anyone have any comments on the PS &SIT; review courses by Prof.David Wahlstrom? Thanks,Bruce JoinerReturn to Top
Geotronics makes a very powerful software for posy processing. You can get a demo disk from them. It takes data from several brands of receivers. Paul HahnReturn to Top

Does anyone know of a good CAD program for land survey work? My father has tried several but most seem either unsuited to survet\y work or rely on a dongle to run (to prevent copying) as he wants to work at home as well as in the office (as is forgetful) transporting the dongle back and forth is tedious. Anyone point me anywhere? Shareware preferred but not essential Thanks ChrisReturn to Top

The usual procedure is to assume a bearing using a normal hand compass and then apply a 'swing' correction once you've surveyed to two points with a known bearing between them. If you wanted to reference to true north (or south) you would have to perform a sun shot or star shot. I'll not go into that here. As for attachments...???. I'm not familiar with that model. > Q. Approximately how much is my unit worth? I'm guessing not much (or whatever you can get for it). > Q. Is service and/or manuals available? > Q (last) Where could I find a used tripod? Again try a survey supply store or survey equipment retailer , they usually have a rental pool you can buy from. I'm not sure of the status of Dietzgen.Return to Top
