For my work as a stagair at WAVIN, I am putting together a list with PVC
websites. But through search engines I can hardly find anything.
So if you know a website which contains information on PVC and PE pipes,
fittings or anything on sewage and draining please send it to me at
rvdvlist@DDS.NL
Thanks a lot.

To remove silicone sealant there is a proprietary product here in the
UK called "Silstrip". Its made and sold by a company called
Penn-White tel 44 1260 279631 fax\44 1260 278263. Its non toxic and
non corrosive and can be washed away with water after it has digested
the silicone. It ain't cheap but the alternative is a cocktail of
chlorinated solvents. I think they do a thixotropic paste which can be
painted on.
I'm sure they can send you some but if you get stuck let me
know.
end of commercial.

Do you think it's possible to use a film of Polipropilene and EVOH for a flexible bottle of
water, good to be ricycled?
I am a student of the Politecnico di Milano Industrial Design University, and I need your
help for a research!
Thank You

Hi,
We are looking to have a polymerurethane synthesized on a small scale.
About 20 lbs. Does anyone know of any company which makes polymers on
demand? The synthesis is a regular 2 step one, the difference is that we
will specify the monomers.
Thanx in advance,
Shalini

Bonjour a tous,
Merci d'avance.

Where can I get some polymethylene?
thanks in advance,
Jaya
p.s.
I don't mean polyethylene - I mean a CH2CH2 repeat unit that
looks suspiciously like polyethylene but is called polymethylene
because there is no branching.

Is salt ever used as a disposable core for injection molded parts?
If so, who does this work?

Hi Rene,
I have a "web site" (sort of) at:
http://www.plasticsnet.com/mbr/skipna19
In it I have linked several polymer sites, including especially PVC where
ever I could find one. Since my main technical interest is also PVC, I'd
appreciate knowing of any other web sites that relate to extrusion, pipe,
profile, sheet, compounding, etc. In fact, Ihope you will let me know your
new web location, and I will gladly add it to my list of links.
Years ago (mid 1970's) I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Stoffelsma
at Wavin's Hardenberg location----back in my Milacron days. If he is still
active, and you ever see him, please pass along my best wishes!
Hope to hear from you, Rene.
Regards, Skip

Dear Forum Member
I am looking for a congealant for "Latex dipping", from discussions I am
aware that very often calcium compounds are used to achieve this
task, have you got any more specific information ?
Your comments are always welcome. Thank You.

When people talk about polymer molecular weight (e.g. in Aldrich
catalog), what unit do they imply (amu?)?
Thank you for your reply.

Mohsen Shahinoor of University of New Mexico at Albuquerque looks at
this for muscle substitution and other application you don't want to
experience yourself (PVA, polyacrylic acid, polyacrylamid,or their
copolymers: US patents 5,389,222 &5,250,167)
Check USP5,336,057 (T.Fukuda) as well.
All this started with Kuhn's work e.g. Nature 1950, Vol.165 ,p.514.
Tanaka followed: Science 1982, Vol.218,p.467
I hope that keeps you busy for a while...
Henning
