Mention the interviewers by name and send a copy to each. Talk about
how your interest has grown since the interview. Mention anything
about the position you think is especially exciting. And above
all, be honest. Don't sound as though you'll sell your children
to gypsies to get the job if you are just lukewarm about it. There
have been times that I did not send out a follow up letter because
I wasn't that trilled with the opening or the people working there.
A follow up says that they haven't frightened you away.
Oh and ask a question. This will give them a reason to contact you
in a timely manner. My question is "Are there any topics of
particular interest that I should study in preparation for the
position?" If they are even remotely interested in you, this
question should cause them to provide you with useful information
that will make adapting to your new job easier. If they aren't
interested, they won't answer. Thus, the question helps both of
us. Be creative!
