Postdoc available: Study of electron transfer by SPM

7 Jun 1997 12:33:01 -0700
Postdoc Position at Arizona State University:
We are looking for a great instrumentalist to be part of a strong
physics/chemistry collaboration using SPM to study electron transfer in
molecules. We are using combined STM/AFM to measure the electronic
characteristics of custom-made molecules embedded in insulating films on
clean gold surfaces. Careful microscopy is required and we also want to
continue to make improvements in the instruments. This work spans the
entire range from fundamental quantum mechanics to SPM instrumentation
and organic chemistry. It is truly an exciting collaboration! The
collaboration is funded by NSF. The successful candidate will probably
have a Ph.D. in physics, physical chemistry or chemistry with a strong
instrumental component.
We offer great facilities, a competitive salary and opportunities for
consulting that have led to permanent positions for former postdocs in
the group. Our instrumentation is constantly being upgraded as part of
our collaborative research with Molecular Imaging
(http://www.molec.com).
If you would like to apply, please e-mail Stuart Lindsay
(Stuart.Lindsay@ASU.EDU) with a CV and the names of three references,
preferably with e-mail addresses. Please feel free to e-mail me for more
information. This position is available now.
For more information please see our web page at http://green.la.asu.edu.
