POST DOCTORAL/RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITION
DEPARTMENT OF BIOSYSTEMS AND AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING
UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA
The Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering, University of
Minnesota seeks a post doctoral fellow/research associate in the area of
rheology and polymer processing. The candidate will work in the area of
value-added processing of agricultural commodities for non-food uses.
Ph.D in polymer/chemical engineering or related field is required.
Experience in rheological measurements, numerical simulations and polymer
characterization is needed. Familiarity with extrusion, injection molding,
foam manufacture and postdoctoral experience is also desired. Proficiency
in
oral and written communication is necessary. Position is initially for one
year, with funding expected for an additional year subject to successful
progress. Salary commensurate with experience.

Three Visiting Studentships, tenable for two years initially with the
possibility of renewal for a third year, are available for postgraduate
research in the Colleges of Engineering, Health Sciences and Science
& Agriculture. Their value is currently 6060 pounds Sterling per
annum, plus exemption from enrolment and tuition fees of the
University.
Applicants must have at least a 2.1 honours degree (or its equivalent)
from a University other than Queens, and must have shown aptitude
for research or other original work. Students who have not yet
graduated and postgraduate students already registered for a doctorate
at any University are ineligible to apply.

JOURNAL OF MUD RESEARCH
The Journal of MUD Research is a refereed electronic journal
which publishes academic research that relates to MUDs or makes use of
MUD environments. Of particular interest are psychological,
anthropological, sociological approaches. Both empirical and
theoretical work is welcome. The Journal also publishes "Comments"
(shorter pieces which propose new directions for research on MUDs) and
book reviews.
We're always looking for contributions. Deadline for submissions
for Vol 1, No 2 is November 15, 1996.
