Hoi Netters,
Does anybody a more or less exact equation of state for
a 2D hard circular disk fluid. I am looking for the 2D
analogon of the Carnahan-Starling or Pervus-Yervick ap-
proximation. Perhaps, you have some references for me?
Thank you, regards,

Ph.D.
Polymers, physico-chemistry
Organic and Analytical chemistry
Industrial applications of polymers
Professional experience
Postdoctoral position at the University of Massachusetts at
Amherst (MA 01003 - USA)
The research subject was the development of slow delivery
systems for various applications especially within the
pharmaceutical and medical field. This study included the
development of biocompatible biomaterials for the controlled
release of hormones, from the synthesis and characterization of
the biopolymer to its in vitro and in vivo testings.
Ph.D. position at the French Ministry of Defense :
DGA/ETCA/CREA (94114 Arcueil, France).
The subject was the physico-chemical study of crosslinked
polymers. Different model compounds and industrial polymers
were studied along a process of synthesis cycle. This work led
to the understanding of the mechanisms involved during the
polymerization. Several physico-chemical techniques applicable
to the macromolecules study could be used (liquid and solid
NMR, IRTF, HPLC, GPC, TGA, DSC etc...).
Research engineer at ELF ATOCHEM (64 Lacq, France)
This contract was done at the polymer Dpt. - NMR facilities.
During this period, a large variety of polymers and organic
structures were analyzed using NMR spectroscopy (proton,
carbon, fluor, phosphorus, deuterium).
D.E.A. position (MS) at the University of Pau (64000 PAU,
France)
Different based cobalt and molybdenum catalysts were studied
along an industrial cycle of regeneration. This study was made
at the surface of these materials using the XPS spectroscopy
Education
Ph.D. (1993) - “Physico-chemistry of thermoset matrix for
industrial applications” completed at the Defense Ministry
ETCA/CREA - 94114 Arcueil - FRANCE.
D.E.A. (1989) - Graduate degree * M.Sc :“Theoretical
chemistry, physico-chemistry and thermodynamic” completed at
the university of PAU (UPPA) - FRANCE.
D.U. (1989) - 1 year diploma : “Computer science” completed
at UPPA - FRANCE.
Maitrise de sciences (1988) 2 year non-thesis diploma (graduate
degree) “Chemistry”completed at UPPA - FRANCE.
D.U.T (1986) - 2 year diploma (undergraduate degree) :
”Chemical engineering” completed at the university of Toulouse
- FRANCE.
General
French, English, some German and Spanish
Several internships (about 3 months each) : ELF ATOCHEM (GRL,
Dpt. Gaz et Chimie Minérale : Liq-Gas equilibrium study at very
low temperature conditions using gas chromatography), ELF
(Lacq, production thiochimie : technician for chemical plant),
LDP Consultant (expertise for industries troubles using mineral
mass spectroscopy or atomic absorption spectroscopy), U. Paris

Subject: How to attribute Internet sources?
From: hboswell@netdoor.com (Harry Boswell)
Date: 28 Nov 1996 01:51:28 GMT
Is there a commonly-accepted format for attributing
Internet sources in a research paper? I've heard that
some work towards this is underway, but I can't locate
any information.
Thanks for any and all help...

Incorrect, EG&G; PAR is alive and kicking, they manufacture a wide range
of electrochemistry, and signal recovery instrumentation, and as part of
EG&G; Instruments Inc. this group are one of the largest scientific
instrument suppliers in the world.
They have manufacturing facilities in Oak Ridge TN and Ireland, and
sales, marketing and service facilities in most of the major countries.
However, I believe they may have divested themselves of the range of
instruments you mention. If my memory serves me right, it was to a
company called Lakeshore(??) or something like that.
Maybe the guys at PAR can help, since it was only about 2 years ago that
I think they sold this technology. Try contacting:

As to the assertive comment above, I would have thought that only PAR's
competitors would spread rumours of this nature !?!
