The software section of SInCris (software section of the VLC) has been
enhanced.
Access is now made through a form which allows selection with various
criterion: software name, OS, application fields....
It is also possible to submit new software to the ditor for addition in
the database.

Subject: Seeking help with an instrument problem of a Siemens D5000 x-ray powder diffractometer

Hi,
A Siemens D5000 x-ray powder diffractometer is heavily exploited in my
lab. From time to time the detector (drive) goes dead, stopping moving
and responding (it normally uses theta/2theta mode). After doing the
power down and up, the detector (drive) will come to lifes again and
everything works fine, until next coma. Recently the problem shows up so
frequently that the detector (drive) goes dead as long as the
diffractometer idles too long (more than half a day, to my estimate).
I couldn't find a ready and economical solution from the Siemens. So
suggestions and advice from any experienced diffractometer users will be
highly appreciated.
Seasonal Greetings!
Tao
