America's Wake Up Call, U. S. Department of Energy , National Oil Program, 1995, run time 10 minutes

The wake up call refers to Desert Storm, and the concern is the increasing U.S. dependency on imported oil. The domestic oil and gas industry offers a more reliable source of petroleum and should be supported. Independents now account for a large percentage of domestic production. The video shows some of the DOOE funded field demonstration pprojects: Lomax Energy waterfloood, Uinta Basin, Russell Petroleum in SW Kansas, NIPER studies to increase refinery efficiency and research on microbial floood foor marginal wells.

Class 1 Technology Workshop, presented by the PTTC and DOE, BDM, Oklahoma City, 1996, run time 4.5 hours (three tapes)

Tape 1: Class 1 reservoirs (fluvial-dominated deltaic), geological characteristics, Sorrento Field 3D seismic and sequence stratigraphy of a Morrow incised valley-fill reservoir on the Las Animas arch (Colorado), and the Morrow project from the University of Kansas/NARCO Stewart.

This is a demonstration tape of IHRDC video training courses for exploration and production personnel. Excerpts from: GL304-Mudlogging, GL 702-Application of Geochemistry to Petroleum Exploration, GL302-Surveying and Mapping on Land, GP201-Wiggles…a Graphical Introduction to Signal Theory, GP502-Seismic Contouring, PE303-Perforating, PE 122-Separation and Treatment of Produced Fluids.

This is a demonstration tape of IHRDC video training courses for production operators. It includes program samples.

Produced by the Oklahoma Commission on Marginally Producing Oil and Gas Wells, this video focuses on the Oklahoma petroleum industry, but extends the concern to the US in general. They point out that one oilwell is abandoned every 30 minutes in this country; Oklahoma loses 2900 marginal wells per year resulting in revenue loss of $25 million per year. Problems facing independents are paperwork, taxes, and environmental overkill. It is estimated that half of these wells could be saved by cooperative efforts with the state in the form of tax breaks.

The RMOTC is located at the Naval Petroleum Reserve No. 3, Teapot Dome, Wyoming and is offered as a place where inventors can test ideas, independents can use equipment to experiment with new theories. It is managed by FluorDaniel. While the program is industry-driven, a special invitation is extended to tribes and university students. There is a major focus on environmental problems.

Some recent projects of RMOTC are presented, such as pump motor efficiency improvements using VGER Lubricators, oilwell power controllers, and Diametz Energy Analyzer. Also discussed are projects like advanced downhole steam generating systems, in-situ H2S bioremediation, and the downhole agitating mud nozzle.
