Role and Responsibility:
The Operations Data Analyst is a full time, entry level position reporting through the Operations Team. The primary responsibilities involve supporting natural gas and electricity procurement events, as well as post-event products and services.
A Data Analyst at World Energy will:
- Work with Operations and Sales teams to request historical usage data from natural gas and electric utilities to conduct opportunity assessments and support upcoming deals
- Build relationships with utility and supplier contacts, as well as internal team members to ensure a smooth pre-deal process
- Use Utility websites, EDI system and the World Energy Exchange to gather customer usage data
- Use Microsoft Excel to format, check and analyze data for deal preparation and to provide services to customers
- Work with pricing and market information systems to update daily pricing charts for internal use
- Lead monthly and quarterly close-out process, communicating with team members, remote partners and finance team to ensure all records have been audited and are up to date
- Assist in the preparation of customer deliverables including basic savings analyses, bill reconciliation reports and supply profiles.
- Balance and prioritize multiple requests on a daily basis and keep up regular communications with teammates to set expectations and define deadlines for deliverables
- Attend weekly team meetings and feedback on processes, status updates and contribute to refining the pre and post deal process as necessary.
- Support the Account Management and Sales team with post-event products and services that are provided to customers. This would involve invoice reconciliation and auditing services, among others.
Requirements:
- Education – Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a data focused role
- Experience – Experience working in a professional, dynamic, and high intensity environment preferred
- Skills/Attributes –
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills required
- Pride in their work and confidence in their quantitative and qualitative abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- A willingness to work in a fast-paced project-oriented environment
- Sharp attention to detail and experience with internet-based research
- A strong, self-starter’s work ethic with an innate comfort in an entrepreneurial environment
