World Energy’s Energy Efficiency Group is an energy conservation engineering and project management team focused on assessing, developing, engineering, and managing commercial energy efficiency projects. Specifically, projects include commercial building energy audits, project scope development, equipment specifications and ROI analyses. We work with local utilities on incentive programs, present project analyses and provide turnkey energy efficiency project solutions for our clients. Our focus is on high ROI lighting, mechanical and energy management systems. We also have renewable energy solutions available to our clients including solar and CHP.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Energy Specialist with an energy and utility sales background who will work on identifying opportunities for improving the efficiency of building systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional accounts. The successful candidate will develop energy savings analyses and cost estimates and present the findings to interested prospects for the installation of recommended improvements.
The ideal candidate should have 2+ years of experience in lighting efficiency, with refrigeration, motors and VFD’s a plus We are looking for a technical team player who is an effective communicator, has good mathematical skills, is willing to be hands-on with project work, and thrives in a fast paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency of lighting systems, building envelope, HVAC, water heating and other energy systems in a commercial, industrial, and institutional accounts;
- Develop energy savings analyses and cost estimates
- Articulate HVAC energy savings concepts to commercial & industrial customers
- Maintain up to date information on green energy standards for buildings;
- Develop energy engineering solutions for HVAC, chillers, motors, VFDs, pumps, fans, & boilers
- Present proposals for energy conservation measures to prospects
- Other duties as may be required.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years experience with an energy services firm, an electrical contractor or an electrical distributor is preferred.
- Background in lighting efficiency is required with refrigeration, motors and VFD’s a plus
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
- Certified Energy Auditor (CEA)
- Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP) or Lighting Certified (LC) is highly favorable
- 5+ years experience in HVAC system efficiency analysis
- Technical knowledge of building systems and/or energy solutions.
- Strong organizational, verbal and written skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office
