Dr. Libbey serves as a Director of the Company and has been Chairman of the Board since 1998. He spent the bulk of his career with British Petroleum (BP) in supply, logistics and oil trading in the US, UK and Continental Europe. He also founded and managed their international trading business in 1983. Since 1999, Dr. Libbey has worked as a senior consultant in boutique recruitment consultancies KMC and Preng & Associates, while continuing to work with senior management in the global energy sector. He continues to write and advise on commercial and strategic issues impacting the oil industry. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Fellow of the Energy Institute in the UK and holds an undergraduate degree and PhD from the University of Cambridge. Dr. Libbey directs the Company's global energy practice, working with the senior management of some of the world's leading oil, gas and power companies.
In April 2002, Patrick founded and has since served as the managing director of Spinnaker Ventures LLC, a venture capital company that focuses on innovative technologies. He started his career as a management consultant at the Frankfurt, Germany office of Arthur Andersen, then joined Europe’s CompuNet, becoming the youngest managing director in the firm. In 1997, Patrick co-founded Saba Software Inc., a leader in human capital management software, where he served as vice president of corporate strategy and EMEA operations. He was part of the management team that successfully took the company public on NASDAQ in April 2000. Patrick remains involved in various consulting and funding projects, focusing on early stage companies and start-ups, and sits on several advisory boards. He holds an MA in International Management with Distinction from the American Graduate School of International Management.
For nearly a decade, from 1996 to 2005, John served in a variety of executive-level roles at Union Gas Limited, including vice president of operations and distribution, senior vice president of asset management, senior vice president of sales and marketing and business development, and president. He also worked at Centra Gas Ontario and the Rio Algom Mines. John is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Ontario Energy Association, and has held a variety of leadership roles in both organizations. He holds an honours BSC in Mining Engineering from Queen’s University.
Since February 2007, Thad has been president, Government/Air Force with the Thomas Group Inc., a professional services firm specializing in cultural change, process, and strategic consulting. He has served in various capacities at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), most recently as senior vice president and corporate account manager for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM). He earned an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wyoming, and a BS from the United States Air Force Academy.
Founder and CEO of World Energy, Rich is a sought after industry thought leader, invited to speak at such industry events as Energy 2002–2006, the World Energy Engineering Congress, and at events organized by the Edison Electric Institute.
