Cargill Joins World Energy
Channel Partner Program
Auctions over 200,000,000 kWh for its
Own and Client Facilities
November 2, 2005. Worcester, Massachusetts - World
Energy is pleased to announce that Cargill Energy and Risk
Management Solutions (“Cargill ERMS”) has become
the latest firm to join World Energy’s Channel Partner
Program.
“We made a strategic decision to partner with a firm
that delivers the experience and the tools to efficiently
serve our nationwide requirements by facilitating the price
transparency of otherwise opaque retail power markets,”
said Eric Hoegger, Electricity Supply Manager, Cargill ERMS.
Cargill was looking for a technical solution to help procure
retail power in a cost effective manner while simplifying
the reporting requirements of our customers, including Sarbanes-Oxley.
After an extensive review of services provided by consultants
and on-line products, it is clear that World Energy and
its platform - the World Energy Exchange - is head
and shoulders above other electricity procurement alternatives,”
said Mr. Hoegger.
“This conclusion has been reinforced by the live
auctions we conducted first for our internal, then for our
external customers. After our initial auctions obtained
estimated savings between 7 and 9 percent over the traditional
paper-based approach, we introduced the product to external
customers. To date, with World Energy’s support, we
have managed auctions for over 200,000,000 kWh for facilities
in Massachusetts, Texas, New York, New Jersey and Ontario.
Our success is based on the combination of three skill sets:
One, our global market intelligence and expertise; two,
the efficiency of the World Energy Exchange in extracting
the lowest price out of potential providers; and three,
the procurement process compliance and tracking aspects
of their system. While there are multiple reverse auction
platforms in the market place today, no others specialize
solely in energy with the expertise required to provide
the pre-auction analysis and advice essential for a successful
auction,” continued Mr. Hoegger.
“Obviously, we are very pleased to have a company
with the expertise and stature of Cargill to validate our
offering, and we look forward to extending this relationship
to more of their own and their clients’ facilities,”
said Andrew Thomas, Vice President of Partner Development
for World Energy Solutions.
World Energy’s Channel Partner Program is intended
to support all players in the market interested in tapping
into retail energy’s leading e-procurement solution
- the World Energy Exchange. Depending upon the relationship
structure, Program Partners may gain access to a branded
solution, where World Energy functions as back office support
to the execution of procurements with its staff of Market
Directors and Market Analysts. Partners also have access
to an entire suite of tools for supplier management, receivables
tracking and commission reporting.
