Subject: software for brake formed steel
From: mpoole@online.bc.ca (Mark Poole)

I am working on a project that requires a software application/lisp
routine that will allow me to draft sheet metal and plate steel shapes
for brake forming.
I have drawings of the developed shapes and would like to show them in
3D after they have been brake formed.
Can anyone out there recommend inexpensive software that will do the
job?

Plot to a file which has the same name as your device. That is, LPT1
or LPT2 or LPT3.

Unfortunately I don't have the data any more, as I finished with the
project over a year ago, and as part of the contract conditions I had
to hand back all data and retain no copies.

Do you know if the Calcomp drivers will work with Summagraphics

Subject: Help with r13 and Novell network
From: you@somehost.somedomain (name)
Date: 17 Nov 1996 02:10:42 GMT
We are running two Pentium machines with r13 on them connected to a Novell
server where we store common drawing files. Our problem is if we save over top
of the file on the server we get a 'file is write protected' error. We have
full rights to the network drive, made sure all settings allow for edits from
within ACAD. The strange thing is if you bring the file in using the pull down
under the file menu (the list of most recently opened dwg's) you have no
problem. If you use the file open comand or icon the file shows as read only
and will not allow you to save it on top of its self.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what's happening.
Your help would be greatly appreicated.

Ok, for all the suppressors out there, language is an ever-changing method of
communication, e.g. every few years new dictionaries are produced with (what do
you know NEW WORDS!) Second, if individuals are affected by the terminology
used to describe them, then let those people correct the words how they see
fit. If it aggravates you that badly, you may need to seek psychiatric help to
find out why this even bothers you!

Subject: Job Leads For CAD Designers/Drafters/Programmers
From: apache31@aol.com
Date: 17 Nov 1996 04:12:43 GMT
Hello All,
I just wanted to get the word out that I have just started an employee
skills marketing agency, called BDMA. I can send any Engineers,
Programmers, Designers or CAD Operators resume to over 240 of the biggest
job
placement firms in the country, for a small fee of $29.95. (The list gets
bigger every week). Most employee marketing firms charge 20 times this
amount.
We did a test run on three of us here to see what kind of response we
would get, and you would'nt believe the calls we have received for job
offers. For instance, one of my associates wanted to be placed in the
Tennessee/Alabama area. He started receiving calls the very next day.
Within 3 days, he had over 20 calls. He is waiting on a great offer as I
am writing this. I personally have taken my salary from $12.40 per hour,
to $28.00 per hour, to a staggering $38.00 per hour. Every time I market
myself, I get a higher rate.
The great part is that you can `pick and choose` the position you want for
the compensation you want, in the location you want. These resumes go
nationwide, which is critical, since someone in VA might have a position
in WA.
So if you know anyone interested in this offer, please feel free to have
them email me at: berryb@bbs.ug.eds.com All I need is a scannable
resume, and a check, or money order for $29.95 made payable to B.D.M.A.
It will be the best investment this year.
I am currently specializing in those with Unigraphics, Pro-Engineer, SDRC
I-deas, Catia, CadKey, Cadam, Microstation, CADDS 5X, Mentor Graphics,
AutoCAD
and Intergraph experience.
Thanks,
Brett

Subject: plot problem with R13c4/win95/HpDXL
From: brian <105102.3402@CompuServe.COM>

Hi,
I am having problems getting my Win95
and Autocad R13c4 system to plot to a
Hewlett Packard Draftpro DXL. I get
an error message when I try to get it
to plot. It says "invalid hard clip
limits returned from plotter" and "plotter
may still be in LOCAL mode".

If any one can give some suggestions, I'd
be appreciative.

Thanks,

Brian
