Data Collection



Rocky Mountain PTTC Resource Center data collection includes the following data sets.


You may arrange to view any of the data listed by appointment. Please provide your own data storage media (floppies, tapes). There is no charge for small amounts of printing or plotting.

Internet Data Access

Data that are available from the Internet can be viewed and also downloaded at the resource center. Assistance in locating data sources is provided. Examples of data on the Internet include petroleum atlases for various basins, field production data for some states, oil and gas regulations, free reservoir engineering software from DOE, card catalog access to Library of Congress and all regional libraries, publications and data from organizations such as GRI.

Oil and Gas Data

Oil and gas data for the western US (Rocky Mountain and Pacific States) is available on CD ROM for viewing on the resource center computers. Data can be accessed by play, drilling, and geographic criteria interactively, using on-screen maps from ESA software. A national oil and gas assessment that was completed by the USGS in 1995 is also available for viewing on the resource center computers.

Seismic Data

Sooner Unit 3-D Seismic Data, D-J Basin, northeastern Colorado 7.7 square miles of 3-D Seismic Data, acquired in 1994 Migration of Full Offset Stack, FX Decon Applied Post Migration, SEGY format A field demonstration project, jointly funded by Diversified Operating Company and DOE. The survey can be viewed on-screen using the resource center computers, and independents may copy the data on their own 8 mm tape.

Topographic Maps on CD-ROM

Colorado Front Range and western D-J Basin topographic coverage is available for viewing on the resource center computers.
