Our Market Analyst position requires constant collaboration with our Market Directors and peer Market Analysts, thus requiring an individual who is comfortable both as a team player and as an individual contributor. Market Analysts are a core piece to our mission of providing best-in-class market intelligence, energy technology, and process compliance. They participate in an extensive industry and company training program, which prepares them to support the sales and operations efforts in each of our business lines.

As a Market Analyst you will be expected to:

• Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills with an affinity for working with Excel
• Organize usage data, support the transaction process, and perform market research
• Maintain the integrity of World Energy’s platform
• Develop World Energy’s pricing indices
• Support sales and operations; assist in monitoring and refining workflow and business process to meet corporate goals
• Model utility and ISO/RTO tariffs

Successful Market Analysts have:

• A competitive drive and confidence in their quantitative and qualitative abilities
• Excellent communication skills
• A willingness to work in a fast-paced project-oriented environment
• Sharp attention to detail and experience with internet-based research
• A strong, self-starter’s work ethic with an innate comfort in an entrepreneurial environment
• The ability to learn quickly, a comfort level working with minimal direction, and the desire to grow along with World Energy’s continued success
• The ability to multi-task and a willingness to take risks in making business decisions
• An interest in being an individual contributor and working in a team environment
• Comfort challenging themselves to take on new responsibilities and dive into the unknown
• Drive to succeed while maintaining integrity, accountability, and sound judgment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with more advanced analytical tools such as SAS, SPSS, @Risk, a plus
• An undergraduate degree (at a minimum)
