MIS Intern

World Energy is seeking a talented MIS intern to work in our Information Technology department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working with our software development team to assist in the design, development and support of our best-in-class web based platforms.

The ideal candidate will be involved with all phases of the systems development lifecycle including: Documenting requirements; Creating high level functional design; Creating detailed design; Performing development tasks; Preparing for application testing (including creating test plans and detailed test scenarios); Conducting tests (integration, system, performance, etc.); Planning deployment (including updating system documentation); Providing post installation and on-going application support.

The successful candidate should be highly self-motivated and passionate about building great software. As a firm, we look for energetic and high-performing individuals with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

This internship is located at our headquarters in Worcester, MA.

Candidates with experience in any of the following technologies are preferred:

  • Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
  • IIS Web Server or equivalent
  • ASP/ASP.NET/VB/VB.NET/HTML/JavaScript Development Languages
  • SQL Server/Access or equivalent Database Products
  • Visual Studio/Macromedia Dreamweaver
  • Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic
  • Energy experience a definite plus
  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Management Information Systems or an IT-related field

Required available hours: 12-15+ hours during the school year; 32+ hours during the summer
