Overview
A rapidly evolving regulatory environment, volatile commodity
prices, and tight budgets, all conspire to create unique
challenges for Commercial and Industrial customers with
sites spread across states and utility territories. In addition
to the market challenges, Sarbanes-Oxley has placed additional
compliance requirements on companies.
Today’s energy buyers need three things: the knowledge
to know where and when to go out to market, the ability
to create price transparency by efficiently soliciting bids
from a multitude of suppliers, and the insight to contract
at the right price and terms.
Increasingly these buyers are turning to World Energy for
tools and energy intelligence to help them turn the deregulated
opportunity into a cost saving reality, while creating confidence
and long term competitive advantage.
Full Service: Procure™
Many organizations do not have dedicated energy buyers
nor have the resources or the time to meet their sourcing
needs. Capacity strapped and looking for leverage, more
and more energy buyers are looking for a full service solution.
Procure™ is World Energy’s core technology,
intelligence and service platform, enabling customers to
secure the lowest price available in the market, make the
most appropriate contracting decisions considering their
risk profile and budgetary objectives, and manage their
portfolio of properties.
Procure™ begins with World Energy’s dedicated
team of account managers and procurement specialists. These
resources make informed, rational recommendations about
when and where to go to market - guiding customers every
step of the way with insight gleaned from thousands of discrete
pricing events passing over the Exchange and in-market expertise
from procuring commodity in over 75 competitive utilities.
This team does all the heavy lifting - aggregating usage,
developing price benchmarks, conducting the auction, analyzing
results, and providing contracting counsel and support.
Once a contract is signed, a customer’s contract,
site, account, and usage information is then hosted on World
Energy’s Portfolio Management System - a real time
database that stores and tracks monthly usage and analyzes
contract and facility performance.
Every step of the way, a dedicated account team supports
the customer, ensuring the success of the immediate procurement
while performing regular portfolio reviews to analyze the
market to find the next opportunity.
Self Service: A seat on the World Energy Exchange™
For those organizations with full time energy buyers who
may not require full-service Procure, customers can license
a seat on the Exchange to run their own auction in self-service
mode.
Replacing traditional paper/phone/fax RFPs with a state-of-the-art
procurement management system makes energy buying simpler
to execute, more effective, and fully documented. The beauty
of the Exchange is that it has been proven to deliver the
lowest price out of the market, outperforming traditional
procurement methods and general purpose auction tools time
and time again.
In self-service mode, World Energy provides buyers access
to Market Intelligence™, the Exchange, and the supplier
community. Like Procure customers, self-service customers
also have full access to the Portfolio Management™
tools and auditing trail capabilities critical to Sarbanes-Oxley
compliance. Procurement services are available on an a la
carte basis should direct access customers need to outsource
different aspects of a procurement.
