The World Energy Exchange platform was developed with a scalable transaction processing architecture and a Web-based user interface tailored to energy consumers. Our technology systems are monitored and upgraded as necessary to accommodate increasing levels of traffic and transaction volume on the Web site. To provide maximum uptime and system availability, our auction platform is hosted in a multi-tiered, secure, and reliable fault-tolerant environment, which includes backup power supply to computer equipment, climate control, redundancy, and physical security to the building and off site data center. We employ SSL encryption to protect all data transmitted between browser and Web server. SSL ses a public key to encrypt data that is transferred over the SSL connection. The platform utilizes 128-bit encryption to provide a high degree amount of cryptographic protection. To ensure the highest level of availability to the Internet, World Energy’s data center utilizes connections to multiple Tier 1 Internet backbone providers. Our platform server also features a hot swappable RAID 1 disk array to minimize the risk of server downtime due to hard-drive failure. In the event of major system component failure, such as the motherboard, a spare server is readily available and can be brought online within minutes. |
