lies on the on the Gulf of Guinea and forms part of the West Central African Region. The capital
city is Yaounde. Other major cities are Douala and Nkongsamba and the port of Limbe.

The Republic of Cameroon, an independent state in central Africa on the eastern border of oil-rich
Nigeria, is one of Africa's oil producing states contributing 6,25 million tons per annum or 2% of
the continent's oil production. The country also has gas reserves which are still unexploited. Gas
reserves are estimated at 110 billion cubic meters (bcm).
