World Energy’s Energy Efficiency Group is an energy conservation engineering and project management team focused on assessing, developing, engineering, and managing commercial energy efficiency projects. Specifically, projects include commercial building energy audits, project scope development, equipment specifications and ROI analyses. We work with local utilities on incentive programs, present project analyses and provide turnkey energy efficiency project solutions for our clients. Our focus is on high ROI lighting, mechanical and energy management systems.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an Energy Engineer with an energy and/or utility background who will engineer energy conservation measures for our clients. Responsibilities will include the development and implementation of engineering metrics, systems and protocols to be used for energy audits of various building types and energy conservation solutions for HVAC and mechanical systems. This position will include field audits, engineering analyses, project specifications, utility and client meetings, and some project management and will be based in our Worcester, MA corporate headquarters office.

The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience engineering energy efficiency projects. We are looking for a technical team player who will assist our more senior engineers in project development, is an effective communicator, willing to be hands-on with project work and will thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct energy audits for commercial, industrial (C&I), institutional and municipal buildings
  • Assist in developing energy savings solutions to present to customers and utilities
  • Possess knowledge of HVAC energy savings concepts for commercial & industrial buildings
  • Maintain up to date information on green energy standards for buildings
  • Assist in developing engineering solutions for lighting, HVAC, Chillers, Motors, VFDs, Pumps, Fans, Boilers and EMS
  • Proposal generation for energy conservation measures

Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/EMS efficiency analysis
  • Technical knowledge of building systems and/or energy solutions.
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Knowledge of utility incentive programs
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel
