Financial blogger Tom Konrad profiled World Energy this week in a Forbes piece, “Is Energy Sourcing the Gateway Drug to Energy Efficiency?” Sourcing is a topic near and dear to our hearts, with our CEO, Richard Domaleski, recently blogging on the subject , observing that advanced procurement techniques can deliver 7-10% savings on a customer’s total energy costs , net of fees, with no upfront payment or risk. Tom Konrad posits in his article that this could very well be the way in for ESCOs, many of whom partner with World Energy, to begin customers on the path to bigger energy efficiency initiatives. ESCO or no ESCO, we know customers like saving money, and think securing thousands or even millions of dollars in savings through smarter procurement, is likely the best “efficiency” measure a company can take.
