Case Study: Town Consortium Goes Green, Saves Big

The Situation

  • Customer who had never competitively procured electricity before sought to create a consortium of towns and host a competitive procurement.

World Energy Action

  • Working with the customer, towns and agencies were invited to a meeting where World Energy explained services and goals of procurement. We proceeded to market each town, on behalf of the customer, after the meeting.

Results

  • Grew the consortium to over a dozen towns and agencies.
  • Towns procured electricity with a 5% green component (above RPS) and generated a projected annual savings of $230k.
